Orvix uses an offline-first system. Observations are stored safely on the device first and then sent to the server when a connection is available.
Messages After Saving
- Observation synchronized successfully: the server has received and confirmed the data.
- Stored on device and waiting to synchronize: the data remains safe on the device and will be retried.
Observation Status
- Synced: the data is stored on the server.
- Pending: the data remains in the synchronization queue.
- Failed: the latest attempt failed and should be retried.
When the Server Is Unavailable
The observation remains visible in history and is retained in the queue. It is not considered complete or removed until the server confirms the save.
Manual Synchronization
- Make sure the device is connected to the internet.
- Open Settings.
- Review Synchronization Status and the number of pending records.
- Tap Synchronize Offline Data.
- Wait until the summary shows that all data has synchronized.
If synchronization has not succeeded, the data remains on the device and can be retried from Settings.
Sign-Out Protection
Orvix prevents sign-out while local data is still waiting to synchronize, protecting observation data from loss. Complete synchronization first.
Do Not Remove Unsynchronized Data
Do not clear application data or uninstall Orvix before the queue finishes. Local data that has not been confirmed by the server may be lost when application storage is cleared.
