Shared Managers allows multiple accounts to access the same object without changing its ownership. Every object continues to have one Owner.
Roles and Permissions
| Role | Permissions |

| Owner | Full access, observation recording, member management, and ownership transfer. |
| Recorder | Can view the object and history and add observations, but cannot manage members or transfers. |
| Observer | Can view the object and history in read-only mode. |
Inviting a Shared Manager
- As the Owner, open the object detail page.
- Tap Shared Managers.
- Select the Recorder or Observer role.
- Tap Create Invitation.
- Share the QR Code or invitation code with the intended user.
An invitation code can be used only once, remains valid for 24 hours, defines the recipient's role, and can be cancelled before acceptance.
Accepting an Invitation
- Sign in with the invited user's Google account.
- Select Join Object or scan the invitation QR Code.
- Enter the invitation code when not using the scanner.
- Tap Check Invitation.
- Review the object, owner name, and assigned role.
- Tap Join Object and confirm.
The shared object appears with a Shared label and the user's role.
Changing Roles or Removing Access
- The Owner opens the object detail page and selects Shared Managers.
- Select a Recorder or Observer to change the role.
- Tap Remove Access when the member should no longer have access.
- Confirm the action.
Shared Observation History
Observations created by a Recorder are stored in the same object history. The creator's name is displayed so the Owner can identify who made each record.
Effect of Ownership Transfer
After ownership changes, the previous Owner loses ownership rights, the new Owner receives full access, and previous shared managers are suspended for security. The new Owner can configure access again.
Transfer or Shared Managers?
- Use Transfer when the object truly changes owners.
- Use Shared Managers for teamwork or temporary access.
- Do not use Transfer only to provide temporary access.
