Data Synchronization

GeoStamp stores data on the device first, then synchronizes it to the server when internet is available. The latest synchronization works both ways: the app sends local data to the server and downloads server data back to the device.

Synced Data

  • User data, including full name and profile photo.
  • Attendance data, photos, time, coordinates, address, and synchronization status.
  • Saved location data, including location name, contact phone, notes, and photos.
  • Work schedule data.
  • Server images that need to be temporarily stored on the device so history remains viewable.

When Sync Runs

  • When users sign in with a Google account.
  • When Home loads.
  • When users open History or Settings and tap Sync now.
  • After saving attendance, saved locations, schedules, profile names, or profile photos.
  • Before users sign out of the account.

Manual Sync

  1. Open History or Settings.
  2. Tap Sync now.
  3. Wait for synchronization to finish.

Synchronization Status

If pending data remains, GeoStamp displays the number of records waiting to sync. Pending data may come from profile, attendance, saved location, or work schedule data.

Unstable Connection

If the internet connection is unstable, data remains safe on the device. Synchronization can be retried when the connection improves. If some data succeeds and some fails, GeoStamp keeps the pending status and shows that synchronization is not complete.
