This page helps you solve common scanning, creating, sharing, and history issues in OmniCode.
The camera does not open
- Make sure camera permission is allowed for OmniCode in Android settings.
- Close and reopen the app, then open the Scan screen again.
- Tap Restart Camera if the button appears on the Scan screen.
- If another app is using the camera, close that app first.
The code is visible but not detected
- Hold the phone steady and keep the code inside the scan frame.
- Move closer or farther until the code looks sharp.
- Increase lighting and avoid reflections on glossy screens or labels.
- For damaged or blurry images, use Scan From Image and choose the clearest version.
Scan From Image cannot read a file
- Use a clear image where the full QR code or barcode is visible.
- Avoid heavy crop, perspective distortion, or compressed screenshots.
- If the preview looks wrong, cancel and choose another image.
A generated barcode cannot be scanned
- Check that the selected barcode format supports your data.
- Some barcode formats only accept numbers, while others support letters.
- Use a higher-contrast background when sharing or printing the generated code.
History is empty
History only contains items that you saved. After scanning or creating a code, tap Save to History before leaving the result screen.
